This ceramic hare/human bust sculpture is part of my Moon collection of forest folk. – Derived from my fascination with the moon, mythology and chimeric cryptids.
‘Hare Moon’
As the Hare Moon rises, nature leans into change, time for growth and new beginnings. I sculpted this piece with that sense of renewal in mind, the hare bearing the full moon and the glaze echoing the moss and moonlight of the night sky. Full of spring’s promise and the mystery of what’s yet to bloom.
Hand-built using stoneware clay and glazed in a combination of a light spring green, blue lunar hues, combined with oxides and white glaze.
Measuring 20cm high, with a width of 10cm and a depth of 10cm.
It’s a very textured piece with some glazed, some unglazed and some layering on the glazes. This is intentional to add interest and depth and to increase the desire to want to explore the texture.
